England's Youngest Scorer - signed by Wayne Rooney
Now in his late teens, Wayne Rooney has already established himself as one of the greatest players of his generation. He became the youngest player ever to play for England when, in February 2003, at the age of 17 years and 111 days he joined the squad for a match against Australia. He then became the youngest player ever to score for England in September of that same year, in a European qualifier against Macedonia, when he netted one of the two goals which gave England the 2-1 win.
Wayne emerged as the top goalscorer in Euro 2004, and his dazzling performance prompted Sven-Goran Eriksson to describe him as, "The greatest teenage talent to emerge at a soccer tournament since Pele in the 1958 World Cup." His supreme confidence and courage on the big stage, combined with his awe-inspiring natural ability, will ensure that Wayne's already massive reputation will continue to grow and grow.
