Anfield Iron - signed by Tommy Smith

"Tommy Smith wasn't born," said Bill Shankly, "he was quarried." Smith was a solid rock in the Liverpool defence from Shankly's early 60s sides until he left Anfield as a reigning European Champion in 1978.

Only 5 players have made more appearances for The Reds than Tommy Smith. Born in the shadow of Anfield, he spent 18 years there as a player, winning four League titles, two FA Cups and the European Cup in 1977. His headed goal against Borussia Moenchengladbach in the European Cup Final in Rome helped Liverpool to the first of their four trophies in Europe's premier club competition.

Despite his lasting reputation as a hard man, Tommy could also play a decent ball, took a great penalty, and scored 48 goals in his 632 games for Liverpool.

Own a piece of sporting history

Our print features a great photograph (copyright Colorsport) of Liverpool's Tommy Smith terrorising Queen's Park Rangers' Peter Eastoe with a typically tough tackle. It's a great piece of signed Liverpool memorabilia.

Personally Signed

Each of the 500 prints has been personally signed by Tommy Smith. As one of LFC's longest-serving players, his autograph is extremely collectable.
