Stan the Man - Portrait signed by Stan Bowles
One of the game's great mavericks, Stan Bowles remains to this day one of the greatest players to have pulled on the famous blue and white shirt of QPR and was part of the 1970s side that fans widely acknowledge as the best in the club's history.
Signed from Carlisle United for £122,000 in September 1972, Bowles quickly established himself as firm favourite with the QPR fans and he was a key member of the team that finished as Division One runners-up to Liverpool in 1976 under the management of Dave Sexton.
In total, Bowles made 255 appearances for the club and scoring 70 goals before he was sold to Nottingham Forest in 1979. He won five England caps during his seven seasons at Loftus Road and in 2004, he was voted the club's greatest ever player in a fans' poll.
