Ryder Cup Glory - Signed by 1995 captain Bernard Gallacher
The 1995 Ryder Cup was one of the closest and most fiercely-contested in recent memory and nerve-inducing clash at the Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York, saw Europe win back the famous trophy from the United States by a single point.
Captained by Bernard Gallacher, Europe trailed the Americans 9-7 after Saturday afternoon's four-balls but a series of sensational individual performances in Sunday's single matches saw the Europeans emerge victorious on a day of high drama.
Englishman Howard Clark began the fightback on the final day with a crucial one-hole win over Peter Jacobsen and his morale-boosting victory created a cascade effect as Europe's finest began racking up the all-important points.
It was left to Philip Walton to deliver the coup de grace. The unheralded Irishman drove on the 18th knowing a half against Jay Haas would be enough to secure victory and after he two-putted on the green to share the spoils, Europe were confirmed as 14.5 to 13.5 victors. It was only the fourth time a side had come from behind on the final day to win the Ryder Cup.
