Kicking King - signed by Neil Jenkins
Nobody has played more games or scored more points for Wales than Neil Jenkins. He notched up 1049 points in his 87 cap internationals, playing at centre, full back and, most regularly, fly half. While he faced criticism from some quarters of the Welsh media for lacking the creative flair of Barry John, his kicking was exemplary.
However high the stakes, the Welsh could always rely on Jenkins' nerveless kicking. He could consistently find the posts from almost any position, but he also weighed in with his fair share of tries and was often Wales' only point scorer on the pitch. In 1994, when Wales won the Five Nations Championship, Jenkins won 48 of their 78 points.
He was the hero of the 1997 Lions Tour of South Africa, where he scored 110 points in 8 games. During the series decider in Durban, he kept the Lions in touch with South Africa before Jeremy Guscott's famous drop goal sealed the win.
