Crouching Tiger - signed by Neil Back
One of the most highly regarded players in World Rugby, Neil Back was for many years the rugby player's flanker. Quick, powerful and with a far wider range of skill than a typical forward, Neil Back lived at the top of the game for ten years with club and country. With 16 tries for the Leicester Tigers in 1999, no one scored more than him that season and Backy was awarded that year's inaugural Players' Player of the Year award.
No player trained harder than Neil Back and he was renowned for an incredible level of physical fitness, long before Clive Woodward's England regime made this a necessity in any international player. During the 1997 Lions Tour, Back staked his claim to world-class status and from then on, with Richard Hill and Lawrence Dallaglio, until his retirement from International Rugby in 2004, was an integral part of the greatest England back row of all time.
His greatest performances undoubtably came at the 2003 Rugby World Cup, in which he was the cornerstone of defence and the key connection in creating attacking moves. In an England team famed for its forwards' strength, Back was one of the leading lights and this limited edition print captures his strength in the tackle. Tellingly, no player made more successful tackles during the 2003 Rugby World Cup than Neil Back.
